I love my little kitchen island and usually its covered in flour, crumbs, crayons, gin & tonics and homework- ah the joys of a busy family kitchen.
Here are a few things happening on my Island right now;
A long, long time ago in a cafe in Knott End in the UK a lovely lady (my mum) was serving mixed salads that kicked ass! I am currently on a mixed salad vibe and there are little boxes of salad treats filling up my fridge at the moment. This little number included Lemon soaked prawns on rocket, fennel coleslaw, honey & balsamic bean salad, lemon & pomegranate powder chopped salad and cold new potatoes doused in homemade pesto. I know that nourish bowls are all the rage at the moment but my Mum was well ahead of her game!
I only bought these because they say gin on them- no seriously, how could I not! I love ginger and these little nougats of lip tingling ginger goodness are amazing. I have several floating around in the bottom of my handbag for sweet emergencies.
Summer drinks on the patio? Yep, sign me up.
Cider over ice- yes, yes, yes!
I actually don't like grapefruit but paired with beer, it is light, refreshing and satisfyingly thirst quenching on a hot day.
These two drinks will be in my fridge chilling this summer for those "I just finished the gardening and I deserve a treat" kinda emergencies.
* Molson Canadian Cider is proudly made with 100% Canadian grown apples, delivering a taste that's refreshing to the core and pairs perfectly with fresh summer recipes and BBQ favorites. With the warm weather finally here, it’s time for Canadians to get out, enjoy the outdoors and get up north for cottage season. Molson Canadian Cider is the perfect refreshment to enjoy all summer long, best served over ice.
* Rickard’s Radler Grapefruit. Thirst quenching mix of our premium lager, juice, and natural flavours. Pairs well with anything hot off the summer grill. Available for summer only.
Mung beans forever!
This fabulous box is actually a Bee Hotel!
A bee hotel is a sustainable resting space for solitary bees, which make up over 90% of the bee population and work independently to spread pollen and nectar.
More on this very soon....
Some of the items featured in this post were sent to me for free. Photographs, terrible grammar and opinions are my own.
