WASTE NOT, WANT NOT

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

It's a very English term, "Waste not, want not"and it basically means that you should not waste anything, because you might need it in the future.  It's how I roll in the kitchen.  I hate to throw anything away and I actually find the challenge of using my ingredients wisely quite inspiring, leading me to try new things and adapt old recipes with new twists.

Sad looking blueberries, dodgy looking apples and stealing orange zest are all part of the plan!

 Leftover waffle batter- no problem!

Coming soon will be part one of the series and it's all about what to do with that battered apple from your darling child's lunch bag, because we all know recess is way too important to waste time eating fruit.

And remember waste not, want not!

  1. Ian and I were just talking tonight about the fact that we waste too much food. I can't wait to follow along with this series. Teach me, wise one!
